Who We Are

The Children’s Surgery provides specialist surgical care for children. A/Prof Chris Kimber, Mr Peter Ferguson & A/Prof Kiarash Taghavi work closely together, to provide outstanding service to their patients. Our doctors are Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and have extensive specialty training in either paediatric surgery or urology. Additional international experience has been gained by all our surgeons, in either the United Kingdom or North America.

The practice offers child-specific facilities for consulting and outpatient care; providing a wide range of surgical options for patients. The rooms are located at 1469 High Street, Glen Iris. We also collaborate with on-site specialist physiotherapy for some of the conditions we manage.

As a specialist service, we see children referred by other doctors. This may be your family doctor, or your paediatrician. Some of our patients need surgery, but many will not.

What We Do

Our areas of expertise include gastrointestinal surgery, endoscopic surgery, urology, and minor plastic surgery for children. If your child’s problem is outside our expertise, we will help you find the best surgeon or other specialist to assist.
